CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE
A Lifestyle Guide
There are plenty of ways to reduce the chance of getting CAD. These could relate to the choices people make. A person could prevent this disorder by changing a lot of their lifestyle. The disorder is mainly because of too much cholesterol building up. [20]
One way to change your lifestyle is to have a healthy diet. An unhealthy diet typically consists of fast foods, overeating foods with high levels of salt and sugars, fried foods, and soft drinks. A healthy diet includes vegetables, fruits, grilled chicken/fish, pasta, bread, brown rice. [10]
Another way to change your lifestyle is to not smoke. A way to do this is to ask a friend to help you stop smoking. Tobacco has a lot of bad substances that are breathed into the lungs, which can get its way into the arteries and build up. [10]
Another way to change your lifestyle is to exercise. Exercising will allow the heart to work harder by pumping blood to the body parts. Exercise will let the heart muscle grow stronger so that it can pump blood harder. These exercises don't have to be hard work at the gym, but simple every day routines just to keep the heart rate up.
