Glossary
* non invasive: Of not inserting any medical instruments into the body.
* probe: (In terms of wave therapy) A surgical instrument used to emit high energy electrical shock waves.
* emits: To produce or to discharge something (waves).
* shock waves: A disturbance in a medium when an electrical wave travels faster than the speed of sound.
* speed of sound: Something that goes faster than 340.29 m/s.
* surgery: The medical treatment for injuries or disorders by entering the body and using instruments.
* anesthesia: The insertion of gas or drugs to eliminate the feeling of pain (used before a surgical operation).
* catheter intervention: The surgical operation where a flexible tube is inserted into the artery, and breaks off the fat plaque.
* echocardiographic window: Or acoustic window, is the level of accessibility for waves to reach the heart. (A poor echocardiographic window (poor acoustic window) means that waves or beams are not able to get to the heart (due to blockage of some kind))
* placebo effect: The human brain's beneficial expectation of a treatment (CSWT for example). The treatment could do nothing, but the person could think and genuinely believe otherwise.
